About

A fifth-generation Northern Californian, Lisa Crawford Watson belongs to one of three sets of twins in a large and dynamic family—at times, the source of her writing. With an undergraduate degree in Sociolinguistics from the University of California at Davis, a Master's degree in Education Administration from California State University, Sacramento, a post-secondary teaching credential, she has enjoyed a diverse career in business, education, and writing.

Lisa lives with her family in Carmel, on the legendary Monterey Peninsula, where her grandmother once lived and wrote. An adjunct instructor of communications, writing, and journalism for California State University Monterey Bay, and an English composition instructor for Monterey Peninsula College, Lisa also is an author and freelance writer, who specializes in art & architecture, health & lifestyle, food & wine, and animals, always focused on the people who bring her stories to life.

Lisa has published seven books and thousands of feature articles and columns in local and national newspapers and magazines; among them Art & Antiques, Southwest Art, Art Business News, Luxury Living, Carmel Magazine, Art & Living California, The Dallas Morning News, Your Health Monthly, Health Matters, Pulse Magazine, GuestLife Monterey Bay, Monterey County Women, Edible Monterey Bay, Santa Cruz Style, The Carmel Pine Cone, and The Monterey Herald. In addition to fitness, fun and family, writing defines who she is and what she does.
